Kontak Recruitment is currently recruiting and hiring for an Operations Manager within the Pietermartizburg, KZN Midlands area for one of our big manufacturing clients. The organisation is sourcing for a highly skilled and qualified candidate to manage the daily operations of the business.
The successful candidate will be required to take charge of both engineering and production matters.
 
 
Requirements for the Operations Manager:
BSC Electrical Engineering or HND in Electrical Engineering (heavy current) or Mechanical Engineer
Government Certificate of Competency (Factories) Preferable
Lean Six Sigma qualification/WCM and continuous improvement
8 -10 years’ experience in industrial environment – preferably textiles
Proven experience in electronics
Exposure to AC/DC drives, PLC’s, Relays Reticulation systems
Exposure to Industrial Air Conditioning Systems
Familiar with Pragma Maintenance system
Interpreting and analysing statistical information
Computer literate
Project management experience
Health, Safety and Environmental legislation and compliance
Working knowledge of applicable legislation
 
Duties include, but are not limited to for the Operations Manager:
Take charge of both engineering and production matters
Lead and manage a staff complement of 200 employees
Motivate, coach and mentor subordinates to achieve budgeted production targets
Ensure clear lines of accountability and responsibility across the team to foster and maintain effective working relationships in the organisation
Preparing and adherence to budgets to contribute to overall profitability
Maintain an effective and efficient stores system to ensure continuous production
Development of staff
