Faculty Manager Law (MKT154)
R480 000 – R605 000 per annum

Inherent requirements:
A relevant Bachelor’s degree.
Four (4) years’ relevant experience in a senior administrative role.
Duties and responsibilities:
Report directly to the Dean of the Faculty of Law.
Act as an important member of the Faculty Management team. 
Advise the Dean, Heads of Departments, Centres and Schools within the Faculty in terms of operational policies and procedures that have an influence on their sphere of operation.
Supervise administrative staff in the Dean’s Office and perform all functions associated with such supervision (approve leave, performance evaluation, co-ordination of duties and related functions).
Evaluate allocation of administrative resources throughout the Faculty and make strategic recommendations for the optimal allocation of such resources to ensure the smooth running of the Faculty.
Identify training needs of administrative staff and facilitate such training.
Promote transformation within the Faculty administration.
Manage meetings and associated administration for all Faculty Committees (For example, Faculty Board; Faculty Committee; Faculty Executive Committee; Faculty Finance Committee; Faculty Research Committee; Faculty Re-Admissions Appeal Committee and Faculty Rules Committee).
Maintain and update the Faculty Risk Register in co-operation with the Dean and submit the risk report as required.
Co-operate with the Employment Equity Officer and the Dean in the compilation of the annual equity report of the Faculty and maintain accurate records regarding the achievement of equity targets.
Complete ad hoc claims, requisitions and service requests where necessary.
Co-operate with the Faculty Finance Officer and the Faculty Finance Committee in compiling the annual budget.
Co-operate with the Faculty Finance Officer in optimising the HR function within the Faculty.
Monitor contract appointments to ensure timeous submissions to the Department Human Resources.
Liaise with Department Human Resources regarding placement of advertisements.
Perform administration associated with advertisements in co-operation with the Finance Officer.
Assist with administration associated with new appointments within the Faculty.
Handle student registrations, provide academic advice to students and deal with student enquiries and refer students where necessary.
Manage communication with students.
